Universitat De Barcelona. Founded in 1450, it is the oldest and largest of the six universities in Barcelona, and of the ten in Catalonia. It has 74.000 students –more than half of the total student population of Catalonia– and is the second largest in Spain.

The UB is structured in five divisions made up of related areas of teaching, twenty university schools, 96 departments and 71 academic programs. Postgraduate programs are offered, as well as a large number of continuing education courses.

Information for international Students A foreign Students Guide is available for those who want to study one or two semesters at the University of Barcelona. At the moment, the Foreign Student’s Guide is aimed exclusively at foreign students who are interested in temporary study at the University of Barcelona, for a maximum of two semesters during the same academic year, and who do not intend to obtain an official academic qualification issued by the UB.
