Antonio Banderas to receive Honorary Doctorate from Malaga University

Antonio Banderas may soon be the proud holder of an Honorary Doctorate from Malaga University. The decision was approved by 71 out of a total of 82 representatives – including professors, students, as well as administration and service staff.

Thus, all procedures are completed and all that remains is to fix the time of the inauguration. An act that could be held in the spring of 2010, although a date will be set according to the actor’s professional commitments.

The initiative to appoint honorary flags emerged from the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the Faculty of Communication Sciences last September as a way to recognize the extensive career of the actor. “It is the flagship of the Spanish cinema and the Latino actor par excellence in the United States”, emphasized Carlos de las Heras, professor of that faculty which is responsible for defending the proposal in the cloister.
